Little bit About our Greece Offerings

a little background…

MYCOBOTANICA is a sibling and creative hyphal strand of Smugtown Mushrooms, a mushroom farm, supplier and education provider organized by Olga Tzogas + her crew of trusted fungal companions in and outside of Rochester, New York, on occupied traditional Haudenosaunee land.

MYCOBOTANICA is our path to begin to diverge our focus on the mushroom farm and  prioritize our other passion; hosting offerings of education, gatherings and otherworldly connections.  Over the years, Olga has taught thousands of people and organized gatherings of hundreds who want to converge to learn from a curated assembly of amazing and devoted educators who focus on plants, fungi and ecological and societal justice.

MYCOBOTANICA is our way for us to connect in our ancestral home and host a loved crew of gifted educators, herbalists and mycologists from abroad and from the lands and islands of the Mediterranean together.  

Olga Tzogas, main host and organizer within MYCOBOTANICA is a daughter of Greek immigrants, who stem and root from the borderlands of Albania, Greece + North Macedonia.  She has been a student of Fungi, plants, people and the land for over 15 years.  Olga has been returning to Greece since a young one and continues to return to these lands to stay connected and learn in their beauty and epic ecological wonder.
